HABITEC Home and Building Inspections, LLC is FULLY LICENSED by the State of Tennessee.
In 2006, the State of Tennessee enacted licensing requirements for all residential Home Inspectors, including significant training or experience, completion of the National Home Inspection Exam, and business insurance. HABITEC Inspectors, Richard Acree and Ron Rittiner have met and exceeded the requirements set forth by the State of Tennessee. They both have attended training at Kaplan/Inspector Training Associates (ITA) which offers the only curiculum endorsed by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). HABITEC Inspectors perform Inspections in a manner consistent with the Standards of Practice specified by the Commissioner, TN Department of Commerce and Insurance, and the Standards described by ASHI. Our Inspectors provide a professional home inspection that combines the highest technical skills with superior customer service.
Richard A. Acree
Richard graduated from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and Michigan Technological University with a Masters of Science degree in Business Administration. He has successfully completed training at Kaplan/Inspector Training Associates (ITA) which offers the only American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) endorsed curiculum. Additionally, Richard Acree completed training for certification as a Radon Measurement Provider (Certification # 104135 RT). Certification is provided through the National Radon Proficiency Program administered by the National Environmental Health Association. Also, Richard has completed training as a mold technician through the Kaplan/ITA Mold Assessment Course.
Richard's experience includes home construction, renovation and maintenance. His engineering experience includes project design, plans and specification reviews, and marketing management.

Ron B. Rittiner
Ron is a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has successfully completed training at Kaplan/Inspector Training Associates (ITA) which offers the only American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) endorsed curiculum. Also, Ron has completed training as a mold technician through the Kaplan/ITA Mold Assessment Course and Fireplace Inspections at the Kaplan/ITA Fireplace Inspection course.
Ron's experience includes home construction, renovation and maintenance. He also has over 12 years experience in distribution center maintenance and repair.
